I would like to thank every last person involved with the ZX14's design, all the way to the dealer's floor. This bike continues to outperform my expectations. It was yesterday that became my 3rd crossing over to my lane day. Maybe he didn't see me, was on the phone, yelling at baby, passenger, eating something, you name it, I don't care how it comes, this little baby is one ambulance ride short of squirting in my pants... I love the street action!
A perfect rpm for 6th gear under highway speeds. I happened to be at those speeds when these have occurred. Rather than brake hard for these occurrences, or say by the time this is all going down, your front tire might be clipped by that timing. You're constantly moving to the left and into another lane. Your timing is ticking down so there was no time to look back to see if you were going to be rear ended. You have time for so little time to think and then react to the situation.
If I'm at speed, my lane is still open and all I can say is; this one was a plumbing truck I mean a huge one, not a van. As it's now in my lane to cut me off I begin to brake? That's not how I play with my reactions. I play the odds of losing the front end is not me. All I remember was a glance over at his door, his high cargo box starting at the end of the door.
All this time I'm in 6th and that was scary close seeing this right next to me. So, should I brake at this point and I'm seeing that white lane close off under me? WOT would I do now? Why I'd turn up the kettle, see what mother tea has behind coroner's freezer door number 2? Empty! Just think if I was ON ANOTHER BIKE???!!!
Of course I was already nailing it when the rear bumper was going to meet me there I brake for it? Not when you have some tea perking, not boiling.
Like the jaws of a shark being that close and about to bite. A bulldozer blade coming at you as it keeps up with you, or a garbage compacter piston about to...
